FA Says It Won’t Discipline Arsenal Trio
The Football Association (FA) has announced that it will not be disciplining the three Arsenal female players who flew to Dubai from London over the 2020 Christmas period.
Since their return from the UAE, one unnamed player has tested positive, leading to Joe Montemurro’s side requesting a postponement of the Women’s Super League game scheduled at Aston Villa over the weekend. Also in doubt is Man City’s home game against West Ham – this after four Manchester City players tested positive after spending Christmas in Dubai.
As for Arsenal’s own response to the trio having travelled cross-border without the club’s blessing, management are believed to have cautioned the players and reminding them of their “responsibilities”. Their actions are however rumoured to have led to absolute fury among their fellow players. The unnamed trio are understood to all be international players.

The trio did not inform club officials of their intention to travel but later defended their actions by explaining the trip as of a “business” nature, and therefore completely permissible according to the rules of Tier 4. Teammates are however reportedly of the opinion that the players in question acted irresponsibly and should have been found guilty of having purposefully misled club management. The fact that the entire excursion would have gone undetected had Ireland international Katie McCabe not chosen to post pics of herself enjoying a cocktail in a bikini underneath the great Gulf sun to Instagram, has apparently only enraged the remainder of the team even more.
